Lately I've been drawn to soft but bright colors that resemble delectable market items and I've been seeing them in some of the work from designers I admire. Mint, Pistachio, Lemon, butter....it's the making of a beautiful dish. What grounds it, for me, is the wood to which it's paired with as well as antiques or traditional elements. This keeps it from becoming too modern but then again, I love a balanced interior space so that's just me. The yin and the yang. I don't like to design a room that is either too modern or too traditional. I like to sit somewhere in between that gathers a bit of both worlds. That may come just from the decor or a melange of eras that are well suited for each other. Either way, I am enjoying these lighter and brighter elements that add an air of whimsy and delight to interior spaces.
Here is a small grouping of favorite images of late that utilize these colors and elements.
